Oracle Database is an object-relational database management system.

Integration of Oracle Audit logs on AIX with DNIF Adapter

To forward the Oracle Audit logs to the DNIF Adapter make the following configurations:-

Log into the Oracle host as an Oracle user (This user was used to install Oracle, for example, admin).

Make sure that the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID environment variables are configured properly for your deployment.

Open the following file:

${ORACLE_HOME}/dbs/init${ORACLE_SID}.ora

Choose any one of the following options:

For database audit trails, type the following command:

*.audit_trail=’DB’

For system audit trails, type the following command:

*.audit_trail=’os’

Add the following line

*.audit_syslog_level=’local0.info’

Configure the syslogd daemon on the Oracle host to forward the audit log to DNIF-adapter server.

Edit the following line in the /etc/syslog.conf

local0.info @DNIF-Adapter-IP

Enter the following command to reload the syslogd daemon:

Refresh -s syslogd

Restart the database: Connect to SQLplus and log in as sysdba:

For example : Enter Username: sysdba

Shut down the database:

shutdown immediate

Restart the database:

startup
